Narbo Via

Located in Narbonne, France, the Narbo Via Museum, designed by Foster + Partners, displays Roman antiquities in a contemporary gallery space. New styles of concrete construction and prefabricated elements are used to house the historical artefacts through more effective methods. Foster + Partners has created a refined and accessible exhibition which shares the history with visitors with clarity. Narbo Via’s inspired artwork takes this refined exhibit and presents it in an esoteric form, requiring deeper knowledge to truly understand its roots . As if you’ve walked through a portal, threading forms barriers similar to the museum’s walls, allowing a viewer to feel connected and explore the rich history on display. While this makes sense for people who have witnessed the museum, outside of that, the artwork offers viewers a mostly symmetric and calming experience.
